Volvo Bus champions women

Volvo Bus Australia is proud to once again sponsor the annual Women on Board Seminar and Luncheon, to be held next month in Melbourne. The event celebrates and encourages work place diversity and explores progressive business solutions.

The 2013 seminar will examine the importance of emotional intelligence and the often undervalued role of a Chief Emotional Officer or CEmO within an organisation.

Volvo Bus & Coach Sales Manager at the CMV Group John Louder explained that the luncheon is a progressive and fun way to offer something back to the many women of the bus industry.

“The luncheon has developed into a forum offering managerial and leadership advice. It is a way for Volvo Bus to provide a beneficial tool for the many women of the bus industry,” he said.

“Women are a driving force within our industry and we are proud to have supported them in this way since the first Women on Board luncheon seven years ago.”

The one-day program includes a seminar, panel discussion and keynote address, and focuses on useful tools, management styles and productivity-enhancing methodologies.

Headlining this year’s luncheon is keynote speaker Margot Spalding, co-owner of Jimmy Possum Furniture in Bendigo, mother of seven and 2006 Telstra Australian Business Woman of the Year.

Another noteworthy attendee will be Julia Camm Evans, founder of research firm Corven, which has produced a series of practical reports on franchisee learning and training. Julia will be facilitating the day’s events.

The 2013 BusVic Women on Board Seminar and Luncheon will be held at the RACV Club Melbourne on Wednesday 20 November.
