With 15 years experience across Volvo Group spanning international markets, and 25 years experience in the automotive industry, Mitch has most recently held the role of Vice President Malaysia, Volvo Trucks International. Prior to this, he has held several positions in Australia including Vice President Volvo Truck Sales, Vice President, Marketing & Operations for Volvo Group Australia and regional sales roles for Volvo Trucks.
Entering the automotive industry in 1995, Mitch has worked across General Motors, Holden and Ford before commencing his time with Volvo Trucks Australia in 2006.
Mitch is acknowledged among colleagues for his ‘big picture’ vision and proactive approach to business matters, and his ability to seek new and improved solutions.
In his new role as General Manager, Mitch will lead the Volvo Bus Australia team and be responsible for the commercial aspects of the Australian and New Zealand bus businesses.
“Mitch’s demonstrated experience in getting hands-on with customers, industry partners, dealers and Government sectors will be an asset to the Volvo Bus team here in Australia,” says David Mead, Vice President Volvo Group Asia Pacific.
His knowledge and passion for the Volvo brand, coupled with a deep understanding of the Australian commercial vehicles industry, make him an excellent choice for the role. He will lead Australia’s largest dedicated bus and coach team and I am confident Mitch’s deep product understanding will support our transition to electromobility, an area led by the Bus organisation within the Volvo Group,” states Mead.

He understands what is required to support a fleet of over 10,000 Volvo buses running across Australia in some of the most professional and demanding operations in the region. It's an exciting time for the Volvo Bus Australia team, as 2020 marked a decade for Volvo Bus as market leaders in Australia, and 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of operation in Australia.
